Standard Exceptions In Pet Medical Insurance Policies (exotic reptiles)

By Nicholas Hunt

A dependable pet health insurance policy can be a genuine lifesaver if your pet requires vetinary treatment that you couldn’t otherwise afford. Whether it’s down to an injury or disease, the enormous vet bills could easily force you to have your pet euthanised if it wasn’t for the financial back up that insurance supplies.

All the same, as with all affairs fiscal, things aren’t always so clear cut. Pet insurance providers can vary considerably in what exactly they’ll pay out for, and so it makes sense to read the fine print before taking out a policy to ensure that all you need to be covered is so. It’s a good idea to look at what’s overtly omitted from cover as well as what’s covered, and some examples of commonplace exceptions are described below.

Everyday Care: The costs of pet grooming, dental hygiene, parasite control and regular exams are not usually covered by pet insurance.

Vaccinations: Although it is all but essential to vaccinate your pet against common illnesses, the cost will normally have to be paid by yourself and not the insurance firm.

Smaller Fees: Most insurance policies have an ‘excess’ figure under which claims can not be made. Smaller excess amounts usually mean larger insurance premiums.

Pre-existing Conditions: Costs resulting from conditions or illnesses which were already present when the insurance was bought will not normally be allowed.

Long Term Treatments: Some providers will only pay out for the first 12 months of a long term treatment such as that for arthritis.

These are only a few of the more popular exclusions present in pet insurance policies, and naturally each insurance policy will have its own small print to interpret. However uninteresting it might be, it’s critical to read this before signing the agreement if you want to be certain your policy won’t end up being superfluous when you need to call on it.

By Steve Procta

Selecting the correct dog kennel can be tough, particularly if its something youve never purchased previously. However as soon as you hold a better understanding of the reasons why purchasing a dog kennel makes sense, itll be easier to know which sort is suitable for your dog.

First of all, unlike what several people deem, putting a dog inside a dog kennel is not heartless. The enclosed environment truly offers many dogs a feeling of comfort, especially if a kennel is used from a early age. Think of it as the dogs home, the area where it can go to relax and unwind. Better yet, imagine of todays kennel as a up-to-the-minute remake of the time-honored doghouse, updated for the 21st century.

Second, a dog kennel is an priceless training tool. When a dog is locked inside, it learns to control its bowel movements. How? Dogs by temperament dont like to relieve themselves in the same place where they sleep. Learning to hold it until its allowed out of the kennel is one of the most successful, and caring, methods of house training any dog.

Third, a dog kennel gives a dog owner a meaning of relief knowing that while gone, the bored dog wont fill its time destroying the rest of the house or the courtyard. In addition, if you intend to travel with your pet friend, a kennel is an absolute prerequisite.

The last actual concern is whether you fancy a kennel intended for out-of-doors or inside. Both types are easily offered. Indoor kennels are rather simple. Theyre rectangular in shape and as a rule made with wire or plastic and theyll have a secure locking mechanism.

Open-air models range from fundamental to grand, literally, and youll uncover broad a variety in price. Like everything, the more features the dog kennel has, the more it will cost. If you propose on keeping dogs for years to come, youre better off spending a smidgen more on a well-constructed dog kennel that will last long and that will have room for your dogs changing needs.

Cat Urinary Tract Infection

By ALEN LEW

Cat Urinary Tract Infection or UTI is something that should not be laughed at. As serious as human cases, it was said to be caused not only by bacteria but also by numerous physical factors, and some of these are; first, the high ash content found on dry pet food. These commercial foods are made with undesirable remnants from the human food industry. In the US, majority of the states allows the producers to use dying, diseased and disabled slaughterhouse animals. Then it was found out that this meat could be cancerous and sometimes high in hormones. In addition, the high sugar content of these pet foods affects the pancreas and adrenal glands. Using corn syrup inhibits the growth of useful intestinal bacteria while other ingredients that are used to retain proper food texture and longer shelf life may be full of carcinogens.

Another factor is stress; because our pets depend on their owners for love, guidance and sustenance, whenever our emotions get out of control our pets are affected. It somehow creates a huge impact on them without us being able to notice it. These effects may be behavioral, may exacerbate existing health problems, or may just develop illness due to anxiety.

How would you know if your cat already has UTI? Well the signs are obvious; one of these is when your cat is straining to urinate, passes only small amounts of urine and your pet experiences pain in doing so. You may also see blood mixed in your cats urine while it is scattered outside the litter box.

Now, the question is how do we prevent this to happen to our cats? A natural and healthy diet will do and a kind loving home that is very considerate on the pets emotional and physical well-being. A clean shelter for them would be very helpful. Also, give your cats their needed supplements to maintain the right balance of vitamins and minerals. Giving them wet cat food is also highly recommended. Given your cat is already infected; giving them antibiotics would be the cure available to you. However, of course, it would still be better if you will bring your cat to a veterinarian.
