It is believed by many experts that geckos who are fed primarily mealworms tend to have longer life spans. The most nutritious mealworms for your leopard gecko and the easiest to digest are newly molted worms.

-Slkworms: These worms are more difficult to come by than are mealworms and are more expensive as well. However, they are a great addition to your leopard gecko’s diet if you can find them - they are a great source of protein and nutrients. Remember not to buy these worms in large quantities however, since they live at most two weeks.

-Locusts: These large insects are great food for a mature gecko, though generally too large for a young gecko to be able to eat safely. These are somewhat expensive insects to buy, but are very rich sources of protein which should be fed to your leopard gecko occasionally if you can find them.

-Wax Worms: These are meant as a treat for your gecko instead as a staple of their diet. These worms are very high in fat and your leopard gecko will love you for feeding these to them, but in order to keep your leopard gecko in good health, don’t feed them more than one or two of these worms per week.

How frequently and how much you feed your pet leopard gecko will vary depending on their age. A mature leopard gecko should be fed between four and ten insects (depending on size) every two or three days. A hatchling or young gecko which is still growing, however will need more frequent meals; four to eight insects or worms daily.

You should feed your gecko its meals all at once instead of spreading them out and try to feed them after dusk whenever possible - this is when a gecko naturally hunts, so feed them when nature intended and you’ll have a happier, healthier pet.

Magical Additions To the Predicted 2010 Christmas Hits List

 After being featured on one of the biggest shows in the UK BBCs Dragons Den last years Christmas prediction has been given another lease of life. The Kymera Wand which is a magical infrared wand remote control. Using 15 gestures you can turn on your TV change channels change the volume and program your own actions. After failing to hit the spot last year there has been a sudden interest in the product after being featured on Dragons Den GMTV and even from its appearance on Something For The Weekend last year. Retailers are expecting it to shoot up the Christmas best sellers list and could even compete with the current leaders stinky the garbage truck and the zhu zhu pets.

Another addition to the Christmas best sellers for 2010 is the Microsoft Kinect a wii like addition to the Xbox 360 that lets you control the xbox with no controls. It features a 3D camera which detects you moving in front of it and has a mic so you can control games and movies with body movements and voice. This is set to be one of the biggest Christmas sellers allowing the xbox 360 to compete with the wii and the playstation move which is another wii like addition for the playstation but has two controllers which you hold.

Stinky the Garbage Truck is another predicted best seller with a not very nice name but kids seem to love this toy you can feed him cars and watch him burp and fart and spit the cars back out. He can even sing and dance and interact with the kids who play with him. This is a new addition to the big rig buddies which are already a successful toy line from matchbox.

One of the other big toys this year which is getting media attention is the Barbie camera. Not a camera for barbie or even a camera with Barbie pictures and sparkles on it. Its actually a camera INSIDE barbie. The camera is in her back and the batteries go in her legs. It records movies and pictures and can be uploaded to the computer. Surprisingly its actually getting good reviews and is a fairly decent camera.

This new Ben 10 toy is released on 10 10 10 or 10th October 2010. The ultimatrix is a new addition to the ben 10 toy line and is his new watch which lets him turn into more crazy evil battling aliens Ben 10 is always a strong seller at Christmas. Kids say you feel like you’re turning into an alien. You can not get much better than that.

Coming from last year’s surprise sell-out toy they Zhu Zhu Pets are aiming at the boys market this year with the battling Kung Zhu pets and involves a battle between the Kung Zhu Ninja Warriors and the Kung Zhu Special Forces.

As always more toys will be revealed all year long but these are the current best sellers being predicted now in August of 2010 so there is plenty of time until Christmas and time to stock up and get these toys early. Some of these are available now and some won’t be released until the end of the year but it should give you a good idea of what your kids will be demanding under the tree this year.
